In the interactive game "Dream Kitchen"(2000) by Josephine
Starrs and Leon Cmielewski the clinically clean kitchen area,
with its female connotations, mutates into a contaminated uncanny
place with disgust slowly setting in. Both metaphors, cleanliness
and disgust, are most closely associated with notions of femininity,
and also crop up again - ironically and humourously broken -
in the cyber games world. |
